Prior
to establishing Daitan Labs, he
held the position of Bell Labs Brazil Vice-President, being responsible
for all Lucent Technologies Research and Development activities in
Brazil, for Wireline and Wireless products.
In
1987 he founded a
Telecommunications Entrepreneurial System to address the
small-to-medium Switching market in Brazil. At the time of acquisition
by Lucent in 1999, the Zetax Entrepreneurial System encompassed 10
companies distributed throughout the country, had achieved a market
share of around 30% and recognition for the fast time-to-market and
unique technology it developed.
After
acquisition, Augusto was
responsible for integrating his team into Lucent Bell Labs' R&D
community. He successfully merged the characteristics of a small
company with that of Lucent, taking advantage of the best values of
both worlds. After a few years into Bell Labs, the Brazilian
R&D
team was recognized as a solid, dependable asset for the company, and
received many compliments as "business-oriented" and "can-do-attitude"
R&D as well as “Reaching New Heights”
awards in
Architecture Solutions and R&D Management. Under his
leadership,
the Brazil R&D Team created many new products as well as new
niches
of opportunities for the company.
As a member of System Architecture
Review Board (SARB), Augusto evaluated and reviewed many Lucent
projects from the point of view of architecture, strategy and
management.
Augusto has graduation in Electronics
Engineering, from Unicamp University, Campinas/Brazil; and
specialization in telecommunications equipment, from Ceselec in Paris,
France.

S. Bergamini

Prior
to establishing Daitan Labs, he
was employed for 20 years at Lucent Technologies. At Lucent, he held
various executive positions including Vice President of international
sales and marketing for Voice Messaging Systems, Convergence Solutions
(Latin America Region) and Global Business Partner Program (Broadband
Cable, State & Local Government and Messaging Solutions
initiatives).
While heading Lucent’s Central
America/Latin America Switching Solutions Group, he served as President
of two Telecom Companies in Brazil, Batik and Zetax Tecnologia.
Prior to living in Brazil, he served
as Director of Lucent’s Switching Joint Ventures in India,
Taiwan
and Indonesia. He also lived in Japan managing a number of wireless and
wireline projects.
Prior to joining Lucent Technologies,
he was Managing Director for Kemper Financial (Scudder Investments) and
Goldman Sachs. In this capacity, he headed teams within the fixed
income research and investment banking (debt/equity) divisions.
Jim received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Finance from Illinois State University, his MBA from the
Kellogg Graduate School of Management and Executive Program
Certification from Wharton’s School of Business. He is a
member
of the AICPA and resides on the board of the Starlight Foundation
(Midwest US Region).

Helio
Kinoshita

Prior
to establishing Daitan Labs,
Helio Kinoshita held the position of R&D Technical Director for
Bell Labs Brazil, steer-heading the Systems Conception and
Architecture, System Engineering and Front-End Process of many Wireline
and Wireless products for worldwide application.
During a 2–year assignment in
Bell Labs US, Mr. Kinoshita successfully negotiated and further led the
transfer of technology efforts of various projects in the areas of
Data, Wireless, Optical, Switching and Access. Also under his
leadership, extensions to Lucent portfolio of products were realized
and market niches were created through complete conception and
development of new solutions, such as Next Generation Services
Switching and Gateways.
Prior to Lucent, Mr. Kinoshita held
many executive and management positions at Zetax Tecnologia, an
entrepreneurial system of 10 companies in Brazil, which was sold to
Lucent in 1999. In Zetax Mr. Kinoshita was responsible for conception
and development of the company’s ZTX Central Office product
family. He had also championed the technical evaluation in many of the
strategic partnerships with companies in US, Europe, India and China on
technologies such as Transmission and Optical equipments, NGN products
and Wireless local loop.
Additionally, Mr. Kinoshita had
worked as Telecommunication Researcher participating on the design of
the Tropico Switching System at the CPqD - Telebras Research and
Development Center, as Hardware Circuit designer and Team leader on
several boards as well as a key interface for technology transfer from
R&D to manufacturing.
Mr. Kinoshita has BSc in Electrical
Engineering, at the Unicamp University, Campinas/Brazil; Specialization
in Telematics and Specialization on Strategic Management of Technology
Innovation both at Unicamp University, Campinas/ Brazil.

Fabio
Matsumoto
CTO

Prior
to founding Daitan Labs, Mr.
Matsumoto was one of the key System Architects at Lucent Bell Labs in
Brazil, leading the System Conception, System Architecture and System
Engineering activities of many Lucent products for worldwide
application. Covering both Wireline and Wireless solutions, such as
Switching Systems, Element Management Systems, Media Gateways and other
Next Generation Networks (NGN) Telecommunications Systems, Mr.
Matsumoto has built systems for both International as well as North
American networks.
During his 2 year assignment in US,
at Lucent Bell Labs in Napervile IL, he was the key interface for the
successful technology transfer of various projects to Brazil.
Before Lucent, Mr. Matsumoto held key
software architect and software developer positions at Zetax
Tecnologia, a Telecommunications Entrepreneurial System in Brazil,
acquired by Lucent in 1999. In Zetax, Mr. Matsumoto was responsible for
the conception, design, implementation and deployment of
Telecommunications Switching Systems and diverse Embedded/Real-time
Systems developed by the company. Specifically on the Central Office
products, being one of the company’s pioneers, he was
directly
involved in the coding of all modules of the equipment.
He was also a lead developer/designer
for improvements in the software development processes introducing
practices such as OOA/OOD, Coding Standards and use of Visual Modeling
Languages such as SDL and UML.
Mr. Matsumoto holds a Bachelor in
Computer Science from Unicamp University at Campinas/Brazil.
